Anti Aging 101: Winter Skin Care Tips



Dry skin is one of the classic signs of aging skin. As we age, our skin loses its natural oils that help keep moisture in our skin. As these oils are slowly depleted, the skin becomes dry and eventually becomes very rough and leathery texture. Dry skin can occur at any time during the year, but it is usually during the winter season. During winter, low temperatures, cold winds and low humidity strips out the natural lipid layer of the skin which prevents skin from drying out. Furthermore, furnaces, fireplaces and suck our skin moisture content. This is the reason why is actually quite a challenge to keep it well moisturized and hydrated skin during this time of year. In addition, let me share with you some tips on how to add moisture to your skin and how to lock in the winter.

1 Avoid swimming in hot water. I know it is very tempting to take a bath or dip in a bath of warm water during the harsh winter time. But did you know that hot water strips skin of moisture? 4 Drink plenty of water. Usually we forget that drinking lots of water during the winter season is as important as drinking lots of water during the summer season.
