Skin Care Regimen for Aging Skin

Maintaining a good skin care regimen is very important to keep our skin looking healthy and shiny. Having a good skin care ritual also helps to slow or even cure some of skin aging, such as dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles. Skin care regimens can vary from person to person, because not all have the same skin type and condition. Products that you use may be different from your sister or your bestfriend, however, the basics of skin care products are essentially the same. Let me share with you skin care regimen that you can try to help you achieve a healthier and younger looking skin.

1 Clean. Cleaning is always the first step in any skin care regimen. There are two ways of actually cleaning the skin. Of course, there is water method in which you can use cleanser, then use water to rinse products from your face. Another way is using cleaning products such as cold creams and cleansing oil facial cleansers. Some people with dry skin prefers the latter to infuse moisture on your skin, but in my personal opinion, the water method still works best. Use a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type. There are many cleaners on the market that caters to specific skin types like oily, dry, normal and combination.

2 Exfoliate. Peeling skin is very effective in sloughing away of the old cells on the surface of our skin. With regular exfoliation, you will notice that your skin will look and feel softer and smoother. Always remember to exfoliate once a week to maintain a glowing skin all the time. Exfoliation is a great day no no. If you do, you'll end up damaging your skin. Again, there are many products available on the market that caters for different skin types. However, if you want to go au naturel, you can use olive oil and sugar to slough away those dead skin cells.

Tone. You'll notice that I put the number 3 in this step. Toning is done to remove any remaining traces of dirt on the skin. Some people swear by it and some do not. This part is purely optional, because in my opinion, if you have a good cleanser will not need the toner. This is just purely a matter of preference.

3 Moisturize. Moisturizing the skin is very important because it moisturizes the skin and helps seal moisture in. Remember that as the day advances, the water in our skin evaporates, making it look dry, so it is very important to moisturize to seal the moisture in. There is a wide array of moisturizers available on the market today that caters for different skin types. Yes, even people with oily skin need to moisturize. Some double up as moisturizers anti aging creams, so it's like hitting two birds with one stone. Eye creams are also important, besides regular moisturizer, it protects the eye area. This section is the most sensitive part, and is very prone to wrinkles and fine lines, so it is very important to the DAB an eye cream before bed.

as an additional skin care advice, do not forget to wear sunscreen after swimming in the morning. Even if you do not go out, UV rays can still penetrate through your windows so it is important to stay protected.
